01. INTRODUCTION
This residential interior design project reimagines Victorian grandeur with a bold and expressive twist, seamlessly merging the charm of the past with a modern flair for the dramatic. Rather than replicating tradition, the design celebrates it—reinterpreting classic motifs through a maximalist lens that emphasizes richness, complexity, and individuality. The goal was to create a living space that feels both timeless and daring, where history and personality coexist in perfect harmony. This design pays homage to the craftsmanship and architectural precision of the Victorian era while offering a fresh perspective for contemporary living. Each room invites exploration, drawing the eye to intricate details, bold textures, and curated opulence that define this richly layered home.
02. PROCESS
The design process began with extensive historical research into Victorian architecture and interior detailing to ensure authenticity in both structure and aesthetic. This foundation allowed for a confident layering of bold design choices—combining restored period elements with modern interpretations of Victorian luxury. High ceilings were preserved and emphasized to highlight dramatic lighting, while original wainscoting and moldings were either carefully maintained or custom-built to replicate traditional profiles. A color palette was curated around deep jewel tones, rich wood finishes, and metallic accents, enhancing the moody elegance of each room. Statement furnishings and curated antiques were selected to align with the overall vision, ensuring a cohesive yet eclectic atmosphere throughout the space.
03. DECOR
The decor is unapologetically theatrical, echoing the grandeur of the Victorian era while celebrating modern individuality. Rich, tufted velvet sofas in deep burgundy and emerald anchor the living spaces, offering both comfort and visual drama. Gilded mirrors with ornate frames create depth and reflect light from crystal chandeliers, suspended like shimmering centerpieces under elaborately medallioned ceilings. Hand-carved claw-foot tables and antique sideboards add a sense of history and craftsmanship, while plush rugs with intricate patterns contribute warmth and texture. Walls are adorned with bold artworks and layered with wallpaper that evokes Victorian damask and botanical motifs. Decorative accents—such as porcelain figurines, brass candelabras, and sculptural vases—punctuate each room, contributing to the maximalist, curated feel that makes this interior both a nod to the past and a portrait of personal style.
04. EXTERIOR
This residential exterior showcases a bold Victorian theme, exuding grandeur, detail, and timeless charm. The front porch, often adorned with turned spindles, gingerbread trim, and decorative brackets, invites a sense of old-world sophistication. Towers, turrets, and steeply pitched roofs enhance the silhouette, making the home instantly recognizable and full of character. Decorative elements like corbels, finials, and ornate columns add an extra layer of artistry and craftsmanship.
